The First Prize in the Open Category was awarded to teacher and writer Maya Catherine Popa from New York City for a poem inspired by her neuroscientist great grandfather. 

The Hippocrates NHS first prize went to former counsellor Kate Compston from Cornwall for a poem about revealing the diagnosis of dementia. 

Parisa Thepmankorn from Rockaway, New Jersey received the £500 2015 Hippocrates Young Poet Prize for Intraocular Pressure.

With a 1st prize for the winning poem in the Open and in the NHS category of £5,000, and £500 in the Young Poet category, the Hippocrates Prize is one of the highest value poetry awards in the world for a single poem.

The Prize is for unpublished poems in English of up to 50 lines of text from anywhere in the world for Open and Young Poet entries and from anywhere in the UK for NHS entries.

Judges for the 2015 Hippocrates Prize Open and NHS Categories were Poet Rebecca Goss, author and doctor Theodore Dalrymple and Psychiatrist Femi Oyebode..

The winners of the 2015 Hippocrates Prize were announced at the Hippocrates Award Event during the 6th International Symposium on Poetry and Medicine, on Friday 22nd May 2015.

Judges for the 2015 Hippocrates Prize Open and NHS Categories were Poet Rebecca Goss, author and doctor Theodore Dalrymple and Psychiatrist Femi Oyebode.

The 2015 Hippocrates Prize for Young Poets were judged by poet Simon Rae.

Hipporates Awards for Poetry and Medicine are in three categories

- an Open category, which anyone in the world may enter;

- an NHS category, which is open to UK National Health Service employees, health students and those working in professional organisations involved in education and training of NHS students and staff;

- a Young Poets category in the international Hippocrates Prize for Young Poets  for an unpublished poem in English on a medical theme. Entries are open to young poets from anywhere in the world aged 14 to 18 years.
